Wetlands biologist

M is seeking for a biologist with qualifications in botanics and an interest for wetlands to join its team of dynamic and enthusiast experts. To achieve this, the qualities sought are:

  • To have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in biology or other equivalent training (e.g., inventory and research techniques in biology, applied ecology technology, etc.);
  • Have relevant field experience;
  • Have a good knowledge of flora inventory techniques, including the identification of wetland indicator plants and Quebec rare species and invasive alien species;
  • Knowledge of wetland management and wetland development techniques;
  • Have a good knowledge of the Environment Quality Act and its regulations;
  • Have knowledge of habitat delineation and assessment techniques;
  • Be autonomous, have a sense of initiative and attention to detail, demonstrate an ability to work in a team and in a dynamic environment;
  • Be able to manage an atypical schedule;
  • Hold a driver’s license and a car;
  • Living in the greater Montreal area.

The person recruited will be responsible for carrying out the field work for the Montérégie region. The reports and the follow-up of each project will be made in collaboration and mainly by the direction of  M.

This is sporadic work, which will vary according to demand, always higher in the months of May to September. Ideal for someone looking for a 2nd job or with a busy schedule (e.g., student).
